Any individual who is willing to help coordinate volunteers and arrange for a distribution site can become a program partner. The Food Bank of Iowa exists to build partnerships with organizations and individuals who share our goal: a hunger-free Iowa. Our team of professionals is dedicated to providing our partners with the food and support they need to help their clients live healthier, better lives. Through our partners, we make a difference.

Partners receive access to our large inventory of food, from canned apricots to fresh zucchini. We work hard to provide good quantities and varieties of fresh and frozen meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, non-perishable grocery products, and even some paper goods and personal products. In addition to food, we provide training, guidance, resources and compassion for all our partners.

Become a Partner Agency

501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that share our mission, including food pantries, soup kitchens, meal sites, shelters (homeless, domestic violence, etc.), schools and more, can become partner agencies. Partner agencies can order food that we have on inventory for delivery (where and when available) or pickup from our Distribution Center in Des Moines. They also have access to orientations, our annual Partner Agency Conference and other training. The Food Bank of Iowa also provides capacity building funding to assist our partners with the purchase of refrigerators, freezers, shelving and more.

Review our Partner Application Packet and then reach out to the Regional Partnership Coordinator who serves your county to begin.

Become a Program Partner

Any individual who is willing to help coordinate volunteers and arrange for a distribution site can become a program partner for one of our programs. The Mobile Pantry Program and Summer Food Service Program are open to any interested partners, while the School Pantry Program and BackPack ProgramTM require cooperation with a school. We provide food for all our programs at no cost to our partners.
