To address the immediate and ongoing community needs resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak, Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company (F&G) (NYSE: FG), a leading provider of annuities and life insurance headquartered in Des Moines, has donated over $100,000 to the Food Bank of Iowa. The donation will help ensure those throughout Iowa have access to adequate food supplies during these challenging times.

F&G employees donated virtually to the Food Bank of Iowa and raised over $80,000. The company gift ($25,000) combined with the employee donations accounted for a total of $105,456 to support resources at the Food Bank of Iowa.

“Our F&G family always rises to the challenge to generously give back to those in need,” said F&G CEO Chris Blunt. “During this time of uncertainty, we are ready to join together to fight hunger in the Iowa community and give the gift of hope for food-insecure children and families.”

The need for donations continues to grow in light of COVID-19 as everyone from children to seniors and increasingly vulnerable populations find themselves struggling to have safe access to the nutrition and resources they need.

“We are blown away by the generosity of F&G and their associates,” said Michelle Book, president and CEO at Food Bank of Iowa. “Together, their impact will help provide nearly 400,000 meals to Iowans as the need continues to rise across the state due to the effects of the COVID-19 crisis.”
