(and other unfamiliar pantry items)

Let’s face it – food pantries are a great resource to the community, but because their inventory is often donated items their shelves sometimes contain unfamiliar items that individuals may not know how to cook or consume.

Thankfully, the Food Bank of Iowa has partners that are working to fill this gap. Below, you’ll find recipes that show you what to do with “odd” items, such as chickpeas, lentils, split peas, and beans. This is just a short list of examples, too! For more versatile foods and recipes for them, check out a blog post from Feeding America.

HUSH, Who?
