In the last few weeks, we have seen the world change before our eyes. Most of us have never experienced anything like the COVID-19 Pandemic before, including all of us at Food Bank of Iowa. We too, have more questions than answers.

Despite the uncertainty and unknown, our staff work tirelessly to find answers to meet the growing needs across our 55-county service area. But we know we are in a marathon, not a sprint.

Here at Food Bank of Iowa, words of encouragement from our donors are giving us the endurance to stay strong. In this week’s “Food Bank High-Five,” we want to share a few of our donor’s words with you.

“Thank you, Food Bank of Iowa. During a time so much uncertainty and insecurity, thank you for the assistance you are providing to ensure that food is not one.”

“All the nurses, doctors, first responders, and medical support staff on the frontlines of this pandemic.”

“For the educators trying to feed the kids who rely on schools for food.”

“Thank you for all that you do. You are brave and wonderful and saving people’s lives (including my patients’). I really appreciate it.”

“Thank you to my wife, for teaching me that a world offering more care, love and support and especially helping those in need, is a better world for everyone.”

“My parents made it through the Great Depression and WWII, and they would want us to help out — always.”

“’We rise by lifting others.’ – Robert Ingersoll. With this note is a contribution from my family to other families.”

“Everyone deserves to eat.”

“May this offer someone comfort.”

“Thank you for all you’re doing to help Iowans during this difficult time and always.”

We hope you will make a donation to support Food Bank of Iowa’s COVID-19 Relief efforts and leave your own words of encouragement.
