I was fortunate to recently attend the “Principles & Techniques of Fundraising” course through the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. The course was four full days in Chicago. During the week, I learned practical skills designed to help build on our existing philanthropic framework.

As a new team member at Food Bank of Iowa, I entered the course looking for new ideas to help our team create, implement, reach, and exceed new goals that will contribute to the overall success of our organization and benefit the clients that we serve. The experience provided me with those tools along with unique ways to ensure the Food Bank of Iowa is utilizing our donor resources (food, volunteers, financial, etc) in the most impactful, efficient ways. Not only was the curriculum incredibly useful, I had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside 20 other talented philanthropy professionals from across the country.

Thanks to Tyson Foods for the support to make this opportunity possible! #TysonCommunities
