At Food Bank of Iowa, we’re all about efficiency. In fact, that’s the whole reason we exist; a food bank’s purpose is to bring in food from as many sources as possible, then make that food available to local agencies who serve people in need. By making a donation to Food Bank of Iowa, you’re supporting a vast network of over 600 partners (food pantries, shelters, meal sites, schools, daycares), all dedicated to providing food to our neighbors in need.

Because of our efficiency, your gift goes further: every $1 you donate provides 4 meals. You can help give someone their next meal today.

Make a gift today

  • One-time gifts can be made via our online donation system, by check (mail to Food Bank of Iowa, P.O. Box 1517, Des Moines, IA 50305), or by bringing cash to one of our distribution centers.
  • Memorial or honorary gifts can be designated on the third page of our online donation form.
  • Monthly giving allows you to make an impact throughout the year. Just enter your information, select “recurring payment,” and a gift amount of your choice will be made each month. Monthly giving is a great way to make a substantial contribution to our work while spreading the load across the year.
  • Planned giving can ensure your legacy includes support for Food Bank of Iowa. By including Food Bank of Iowa in your estate plan, you can leave a lasting gift to support your neighbors in need.
  • Stock gifts or gifts from your donor-advised fund can also support Food Bank of Iowa’s mission. Contact a member of our philanthropy team to learn about these ways and other methods of making a gift to Food Bank of Iowa.
  • The Helping Hands Society recognizes all donors whose contributions during a given year total $1,000 or more.
  • Our expert team can guide you through the giving process, helping to ensure that every gift matters.
