Thousands of Iowans struggle with hunger in the 55 counties that the Food Bank of Iowa serves. That’s why we move nearly 2 million pounds of food per month through our distribution center, getting it to our partners, programs and the Iowans who need it most.  We’re proud of our growth, but we need to do more—and we can, with your help.

Our 650 Partner Agencies include food pantries, community meal sites, shelters, schools and other organizations that share our mission—to end hunger in Iowa. They are our best allies in the fight against hunger, and provide vital services to our communities.

Our Mobile Pantry Program provides farmers market-style distributions on a monthly, bimonthly or quarterly basis in communities that lack access to traditional food resources.

Our School Pantry Program places traditional food pantries inside community schools, helping kids and their families access the food they need.

Our BackPack ProgramTM provides elementary-age kids in need with a sack of kid-friendly, nutritionally balanced foods every Friday during the school year, helping them eat through the weekend.

Our Summer Food Service Program helps fill the meal gap when kids lack access to school meal programs.
