Food producers, retailers, wholesalers, and distributors like you feed Iowans, just like we do at Food Bank of Iowa. But sometimes you have a surplus, a relabeled product, or something that needs to come off your shelves. That’s where we come in.

We arrange for one of our trucks or one of our partner agencies (a local food pantry, for example) to stop by your facility and take that product off your hands. We distribute it in communities big and small, throughout 55 of Iowa’s 99 counties, making a big difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.

At Food Bank of Iowa, we distribute 1.2 million lbs. of food each month. Half of that comes from donations — truckloads of eggs, pallets of pasta, bins of fresh produce — and all of it goes to Iowa children, families, and seniors in need.

It’s a mutual benefit. You’re covered from liability by Good Samaritan laws, you receive a tax incentive for your donation, and you’re doing something wonderful with food that otherwise would go to waste.

We want you to join us in the fight against hunger. Contact our food sourcing professional to find out how you can get started:
