Landmark study reveals an unprecendented number of Central Iowans seeking emergency food assistance.
Hunger in America 2010: Food Bank of Iowa, released by the Food Bank of Iowa and Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization, reports that more than 76,100 different people, including 27,396 children, receive emergency food each year through the Food Bank of Iowa's network of food providing agencies. This finding represents a 30 percent increase since the findings reported in Hunger in America 2006.
