Hunger is a serious problem in Iowa. Many of our neighbors struggle with getting enough to eat on a daily basis.
- 1 in 9 Iowans are food insecure.
- 1 in 6 Iowa children does not have enought to eat every day.
- 342,934 Iowans live at or below the poverty level.
Thanks to our network of donors, dedicated volunteers and partners, in 2010, the Food Bank of Iowa channeled 6,287,514 pounds of donated grocery products to needy families and individuals through a network of more than 285 nonprofit agencies in 42 Iowa counties, an increase of 16% over 2009.
We can do more, but we need your help.
